Henkel showcases its adhesive solutions

From 23 to 25 September, the Fachpack trade fair will bring together the packaging industry in Nuremberg under the guiding theme "Transition in Packaging".
Henkel Adhesive Technologies will be present with low environmental impact adhesive solutions for end-of-line packaging and the optimisation of fibre-based packaging in the context of a circular economy.

A particular highlight in the hot melt adhesive segment will be a product innovation scheduled for market launch in September. While maintaining the same chemical composition and adhesive performance, this product – already part of the current portfolio – features a significantly reduced carbon footprint. This makes a tangible contribution to climate performance and supports corporate sustainability targets.

In addition to increasingly ambitious goals, companies are also facing a changing regulatory landscape. At Fachpack, Henkel will devote considerable attention to the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Although many aspects of the regulation will not be fully defined until 2027, the timeframe for adapting production lines is already tight. Companies waiting for complete legal clarity risk falling behind in terms of investment and market access.

To support customers through this transition, Henkel offers a holistic approach that encompasses adhesive selection, materials, packaging technologies, and integration into existing processes.

The PPWR places a strong emphasis on the recyclability of fibre-based packaging. To support companies in developing sustainable packaging solutions, Henkel has established the “Packaging RecycLab”, a modular testing environment. Here, new packaging concepts can be tested under realistic conditions for recycling compatibility. This solid decision-making foundation enables the design of packaging that meets future regulatory requirements from the outset.
