Mondi is presenting its range of solutions for the coffee industry at the Host Milano trade fair from 17th to 21st October 2025. Visitors can see how Mondi meets the requirements of modern roasters in line with PPWR regulations through innovative packaging materials with high barrier capacity and excellent machine operability.
Mondi offers a diverse portfolio comprising sustainable primary and secondary packaging made from paper, plastic and hybrid materials designed for recycling. The range spans from mono-material SoftPack or VacuumPack formats in polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE) to paper-based StickPack and PodSachet, offering tailored solutions for all applications, from ground coffee to whole beans, pods and capsules. With Ad/Vantage TrayWrap, the company offers a paper alternative to plastic in secondary packaging that saves over 75% of CO2 and, by eliminating the shrink tunnel stage, optimises the packaging process for customers. The solution is made from 100% kraft paper and features a unique combination of mechanical properties with excellent elasticity. Ad/Vantage TrayWrap is designed for recycling, making this solution also suitable for multipacks, in line with future regulatory requirements in Europe.
As a novelty, Mondi is presenting re/cycle VentPack, a next-generation degassing concept for coffee packaging. The innovative valve, pre-applied to the film, aims to simplify the packaging process for customers. Thanks to its extremely thin PP-based structure, VentPack enables savings of up to 96% in plastic weight compared to conventional button valves and is designed to be recycled as mono-PP packaging.
Mondi solutions offer numerous advantages for the coffee industry: high-quality barrier properties protect coffee from exposure to oxygen and moisture for a period of up to 12 months. Versatile printing options, such as flexographic and gravure printing with matt and anti-seal coatings, ensure attractive product presentation and strong shelf impact. The solutions are sustainable by design and help customers comply with EU regulations. Furthermore, they can be used efficiently on existing filling lines and are supported by a Europe-wide production network that ensures security of supply.
With FlexStudios, Mondi provides customers with an innovative hub where they can actively participate in the packaging development process, benefiting first-hand from the company's extensive experience and material-neutral approach, as well as cutting-edge technology and customer-centric approach. By bringing together pilot lines, testing facilities and co-creation spaces under one roof, Mondi is able to reduce the time-to-market for innovations, ensure compliance and promote sustainable change in the flexible packaging sector.
