International Paper Explores New Facility in Salt Lake City

International Paper, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has announced the strategic exploration of a potential new state-of-the-art facility in Salt Lake City, Utah (USA). The initiative is part of the company’s long-term growth strategy to expand its manufacturing capabilities across the United States and better serve the increasing demand for high-quality, eco-friendly packaging in the western region.

The proposed facility would feature advanced technologies and equipment designed to support innovation, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility—reinforcing International Paper’s commitment to sustainable practices throughout its value chain.

Salt Lake City would represent a new market for International Paper and a strategic opportunity to strengthen our U.S. footprint,” said John Berry, Group Vice President and General Manager, Packaging Group West. “This project would enable us to better serve existing customers in the region while growing strategically with new ones.

While the exploration is still in its early stages, International Paper confirmed that further details regarding capital investment, site footprint, and employment opportunities will be disclosed as the evaluation progresses.
