Climate and packaging: Mondelēz International’s milestones

Mondelēz International has published Snacking Made Right, its report outlining the sustainability progress achieved in 2025, highlighting significant results in responsible ingredient sourcing, climate action, and packaging innovation. In addition to the excellent progress made in expanding Cocoa Life, its sustainable cocoa sourcing program, Mondelēz continues to reduce its environmental impact through local sustainability initiatives and global partnerships.

On the climate front, approximately 100% of the cocoa volume used for chocolate products is now sourced through Cocoa Life. This contributes to the company’s goal of reducing CO2 emissions across the entire value chain by 35% compared to 2018 levels by 2030. In 2025, the company also exceeded its target of reducing absolute water consumption at priority sites by 10%, achieving an 18% reduction compared to 2018.

As for packaging, Mondelēz International introduced packaging containing recycled material for Cadbury products in Australia, as part of its commitment to a more sustainable circular economy for plastics, moving closer to its 2030 target for recycled plastic content.

Our journey is grounded in sustainable, long-term business growth, shaping, leading, and accelerating the future of snacking for generations of consumers to come - said Dirk Van de Put, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mondelēz International - We remain focused on innovating with excellence, implementing long-term structural actions aimed at strengthening business resilience, embedding sustainability into our daily work, and creating long-term value for our many stakeholders.

Collaborative impact investments are also part of the strategy: Mondelēz joined The 100+ Accelerator, an initiative that provides access to eco-entrepreneurs to further drive large-scale systemic environmental solutions.
